There are many reasons why research of infants is so helpful and critical to help parents, educators, doctors learn more about all the areas of development of an infant. Therefore, I do believe that infant research is important. Infants are very hard to communicate with verbally and there are many research ethics that need to be considered with infants, such as the logic and the design of the infant research, the procedure and techniques in infant research, and as well the interpretation and measurement issues in developmental research. Babies are helpless and so young that they do not understand what is happening to them which is why they cannot consent to participate in research. Babies need to be protected and be safe in any and every circumstance in any research study. Babies should be respected as any other human being that is able to consent to participating in a research study. Ethics are like in any research study are of high importance to the participants and to the researcher. Therefore, ethics are critical to complete and validate research findings.
